Nepal HONEYmoon

We got married. Then, we left town. After two months and hundreds of kilometers trekking through the Annapurna massif in central Nepal, we still like each other. Here's why...

Try saying that after a few beers...

foreign exchange
A local girl tries to sell us her child. We try to pay by cheque. A comedy of errors!

Our porter, kesh
We hired Kesh a week into the trip to carry Elizabeth's bag, and help us find Nepali chicks. Here are some that he found.

porter
Porters sometimes carry extreme loads. Maybe we shouldn't have brought an entire case-lot of condoms for the honeymoon.

With Annapurna I in the background. Or is it Annapurna IV. I get them confused.

preparing for the assault on thorung-la
It was cold, dark, I was hungry, and we had to get up at 4:15 AM for the final assault on the 17,500-foot Thorung La pass. So, I did what any semi-rational, hypothermic, vertigo-afflicted person would do: I played with my camera. Ellie, although huddled in her sleeping bag against the -30 degree winds, still managed to look gorgeous. Did I mention I was semi-rational?

people who owe me money
Kesh, Elizabeth and an Arizona firefighter named Chris. We had to eat him to survive. Unsurprisingly, he had a slight smoky flavor.

thorung-la
17,500 foot pass between the Kali Gandaki and Marsyandi rivers. We made it, but someone was obviously here before us and left a bunch of annoying Buddhist prayer flags behind. The nerve.

I'm running out of descriptions here... they're scarier than they look. Honestly.

Wishing to avoid an incident on the bridge of death, Elizabeth opts for a slower, wetter crossing.
